Former Eagles DB carted off from Texans practice with a significant leg injury

C.J. Gardner-Johnson will never pay for a drink in the city of Philadelphia again after having helped lead the Eagles to a Super Bowl 59 win over the Chiefs. The talented and mercurial safety was traded to the Texans during the offseason for offensive guard Kenyon Green.

Gardner-Johnson was acquired to provide veteran leadership and big-play ability to the Texans‘ youthful secondary. His debut could be delayed after the former Eagles star was carted off with what’s described as a significant leg injury.

Gardner-Johnson was injured while tackling veteran Houston wide receiver John Metchie. The severity of the injury is unknown, but the 27-year-old is undergoing an MRI to learn more.
