Florida football secured its eighth commitment for the 2026 class, landing a pledge from running back Carsyn Baker.

The 6-foot-1, 195-pound Baker rushed for 1,282 yards and 13 TDs last season at Langston Hughes High School in Fairburn, Georgia. He chose the Florida Gators over offers from South Carolina, Florida State, Alabama and Auburn.

Baker is rated a three-star per 247Sports and a four-star per 247Sports Composite, as the 187th-best player nationally and the 15th-best running back in the country.

Per 247Sports recruiting analyst Hudson Standish, Baker a, “Physically imposing upright runner hovering a shade under 6-foot-1, 195 pounds with a blazing track and field profile. Finished his junior season with three straight 100+ yards performances, culminating with a three-touchdown effort in the GHSA AAAAA state final against national powerhouse Milton. Finds success running outside/wide zone, quickly finding a crease and reaching his top-end gear that the majority of Friday night defenders cannot match.”

Baker is UF’s first true running back in the 2026 class although four-star Gainesville Buchholz High commit Justin Williams is listed as an athlete who can play both running back and receiver.
