In college football, most teams rely on its stars to help them win games, and it looks like Notre Dame football will have plenty of start power according to CBS Sports top-150 players of 2025 following the conclusion of most teams spring practices.
There were five Irish players named to the list, each of them shouldn’t be a surprise, but what might be is where they are ranked among their peers. Blake Brockermeyer, who compiled the list, did not include any true freshman, but that will change once a reranking is made in the middle of the season.
Every one of his top-10 from last year’s final rankings have moved on, as there is a changing of the guard at the top of the list. Find out below each Notre Dame player that was ranked, along with my thoughts on their placement.
No. 5 Running back Jeremiyah Love

This makes plenty of sense to have Love here, he’s the top returning running back nationally and should get plenty of run this fall. Injuries limited towards the end of last year, but Brockermeyer expects that “Notre Dame will ride him early and often in 2025.” The ranking is pretty fair, although you could make an argument that he could move up a few spots.
No. 19 Wide receiver Malachi Fields

While we didn’t get to see Fields with the team during the spring, he’s a difference maker that didn’t need the practice to show his worth. A massive target, who Brockermeyer described having “tight end size and physicality… can win vertically or underneath by breaking tackles.” The Irish have long needed a game-breaking wide receiver, and they could have two this year along with Jaden Greathouse. This is a bit high in my eyes for Fields, but there is no doubt that he should be on this list.
No. 30 Offensive lineman Charles Jagusah
Joe Rudolph feels Charles Jagusah, widely viewed as Notre Dame’s present and future at left tackle, can be one of the best interior OL in CFB.
So Jagusah has been repping at right guard all spring. That’s where he filled in admirably in the Orange Bowl.https://t.co/6WS1yRbZU1pic.twitter.com/7tdAZFxfas

While he was recruited as a tackle and got most of his there reps before the shoulder injury, Jagusah looks like he’s going to be one of Notre Dame starting guards. Brockermeyer calls him the “top OL prospect in a load room,” and could see him making a “rise quickly with a full, healthy season.” Like Fields, Jagusah should be on this list, but having a player with limited playing time this high might be a mistake. The potential is there, but for him to be ranked this high right now, he needs to be on the field more.
No. 41 Cornerback Leonard Moore

While I think that Fields and Jagusah are ranked a bit too high, this is way too low for Moore. He should be closer to the top-25, as he’s one of just a few corners that return with elite production. Brockermeyer glowed over Moore’s skill set, as he said he’s a “long, fluid corner with elite recovery speed and sticky man coverage… rarely beaten clean – even when matched stride-for-stride.”
No. 123 Center Ashton Craig

Another Notre Dame offensive lineman who didn’t play a complete season in 2024, makes the list with Craig. Centers are the quarterbacks of the line, and the Irish have a great one. Brockermeyer likes the fact that Craig is “quick to the second level, strong grip, and excellent in pass pro.” I think this a great spot for him, as there is plenty of upside here.
