Dallas Mavericks star Klay Thompson is going through a period of mourning right now after his 13-year-old dog, Rocco, passed away.

It was the Mavs guard’s father, Mychal Thompson, who revealed the tragic news on Wednesday during an ESPN Los Angeles radio show.

“We had to put Rocco, Klay’s dog, down over the weekend,” Mychal Thompson said on the “Mason & Ireland” show, via NBC Sports Bay Area. “… It was time.”

Rocco, an English bulldog, became a star in his own right during Thompson’s 11-year stint with the Golden State Warriors. Rocco was featured in a number of viral moments with the five-time All-Star, making him a beloved figure among the Warriors faithful.
