A TV broadcast team calling a WNBA game between the host Atlanta Dream and Golden State Valkyries on Tuesday noted “something” flew on the court from the stands but took a while to recognize it was a neon green dildo. (Watch the video below.)

A uniformed officer was inspecting the object when the camera zoomed in on it, clearly showing it was a sex toy.

“Oh my gosh,” the announcer said. “OK, OK. Inappropriate.”

Presumably pivoting to the perpetrator, she added, “Get ’em outta here, whoever it is.”

“Oh my gosh” was the family-friendly exclamation the freaky moment called for at a crucial time in the game. The score was tied 75-75 with less than a minute left. Cecilia Zandalasini made a short jumper with 3.9 seconds remaining to give the Valkyries a 77-75 victory. But that may not be the most-played highlight.

Now historians can place the game alongside other dildo-interrupted matches, such as the host Buffalo Bills vs. the New England Patriots in 2016 and a year later between the same two teams! The tradition continued.

It’s been quite the dildo era.
