A new report suggests that Galatasaray are prepared to trigger the €75 million release clause for Victor Osimhen, who has been linked to both Manchester United and PSG. The transfer is expected to be finalized within the week, though the payment structure is still being finalized.

GiveMeSport previously reported that Manchester United were growing uneasy about PSG’s interest, as the French club was seen as the frontrunners to activate the £63 million clause and meet Osimhen’s wage demands. However, that move never came to fruition.

Now, Corriere dello Sport reports that Osimhen wants to stay at Galatasaray. The Turkish club have made a strong effort to keep him by offering a salary package worth €16 million per year, which Osimhen has accepted.

The final hurdle is reaching an agreement with Napoli. The Italian side are standing firm on the €75 million clause and are not willing to negotiate a lower fee.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reports that new direct talks are taking place today over a potential deal for Osimhen, with a crucial week ahead in negotiations.

Galatasaray have submitted a formal bid: €40 million upfront, with an additional €35 million to be paid in two separate €17.5 million installments. Napoli are open to the structure of the deal but are holding firm on adjusting the payment terms and demanding solid bank guarantees.

In his latest column for CaughtOffside, journalist Alfredo Pedullà added that while Galatasaray are eager to activate the striker’s release clause, Napoli expect more than just intent—they want full financial assurances before moving forward.

“Napoli want more,” Pedullà wrote. “Not just vague promises of splitting the payment in instalments, but a real final guarantee, like a proper bank guarantee or an irrevocable letter of credit.

“In short: cash straight away or bulletproof guarantees. Now it’s up to Galatasaray to fully meet Napoli’s demands. There’s a reason why Napoli want every cent: it’s a matter of funding their incoming transfers and the investment in their next striker.”
