After being cut by the Chicago Bears on Tuesday, wide receiver Tyler Scott is signing with the Indianapolis Colts practice squad, according to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler.
Scott was drafted by the Bears in the fourth round of the 2023 NFL draft. He’s seen limited action in his first two seasons, with his best year coming as a rookie where he had 17 catches for 168 yards and seven rushes for 41 yards.
The third-year pro was competing for a roster spot in a crowded receiver room that consists of DJ Moore, Rome Odunze, Olamide Zaccheaus, second-round rookie Luther Burden III and undrafted rookie Jahdae Walker, who beat out Scott for the final spot.
Now, Scott gets a fresh start with the Colts, where he’ll have a chance to work his way up from the practice squad to a team’s active roster.
Scott is the second roster cut from that 2023 draft class, where third-round defensive tackle Zacch Pickens was cut from the roster following a disappointing sophomore season.
