The 2025 NFL Draft is in the books, and the Chicago Bears welcomed eight new rookies to the roster, including tight end Colston Loveland, wide receiver Luther Burden III, offensive tackle Ozzy Trapilo, defensive tackle Shemar Turner, cornerback Zah Frazier and running back Kyle Monangai.
The Bears were involved in several trades before and during the NFL draft, where they acquired some veteran players or additional draft picks. That included most recently trading back three times in the draft — twice with the Buffalo Bills (41 and 109) and once with the Los Angeles Rams (148).
Here’s a look at every player who was selected with picks in the 2025 draft that the Bears traded away.
Round 2, Pick 41: T.J. Sanders, DT, South Carolina
The Bears’ first trade of the draft happened early in the second round when the Bills moved up to 41st overall to select defensive tackle T.J. Sanders out of South Carolina. In the trade, Chicago received a pair of second rounders (56, 62) and a fourth-round selection (109) in exchange for their second rounder (41), third-round pick (72) and seventh rounder (240).
Round 3, Pick 72: Landon Jackson, EDGE, Arkansas
This selection was also part of that trade with Buffalo to move up early in the second round. For what it’s worth, general manager Ryan Poles hasn’t had much luck drafting in the third round (Velus Jones Jr., Zacch Pickens and Kiran Amegadjie). So maybe the Bills did the Bears a favor here.
Round 4, Pick 109: Deone Walker, DT, Kentucky
Talk about a full circle moment. This was originally the pick the Bears traded to the Bills last year to move back into the fifth round for edge rusher Austin Booker. But Chicago got the pick back as part of Buffalo trading up for the 41st overall selection. Then, the Bears sent it back to the Bills when Buffalo opted to trade up with Chicago a second time.
Round 5, Pick 148: Ty Hamilton, DT, Ohio State
Keeping with the theme of trades, the Bears moved the 148th selection to the Rams as part of a trade with Los Angeles, who moved up for defensive tackle Ty Hamilton. Chicago received a fourth rounder (132) and fifth-round selection (169) in exchange.
Round 6, Pick 185: Will Howard, QB, Ohio State
The Bears traded their original sixth-round pick to the Seattle Seahawks in exchange for defensive end Darrell Taylor last summer. Taylor proved to be a solid rotational player off the edge, although Chicago didn’t re-sign him in free agency. Taylor is now with the Houston Texans. Meanwhile, Seattle traded this pick to the Pittsburgh Steelers, who selected quarterback Will Howard.
Round 6, Pick 192: Bryce Cabeldue, G, Kansas
Remember Chase Claypool? Remarkably, the Bears received decent draft capital when they traded him to the Miami Dolphins in 2023. Chicago then used this selection to acquire defensive tackle Chris Williams from the Cleveland Browns. Williams was a solid rotational player along the interior, and he’s back with the Bears this season. Cleveland then traded this pick to the Seahawks, who selected guard Bryce Cabeldue.
Round 6, Pick 202: Gavin Bartholomew, TE, Pittsburgh
The Bears received this selection from the Steelers in exchange for quarterback Justin Fields after opting to select Caleb Williams first overall in last year’s draft. This pick was a conditional sixth rounder that would’ve become a fourth-round selection if Fields had played 51% of snaps. While he saw the field at the start of the season, Russell Wilson ultimately replaced him. Chicago then sent this sixth rounder to the Rams as part of the trade for Los Angeles to move up to 148. The Rams then sent it to the Minnesota Vikings, who selected tight end Gavin Bartholomew.
Round 7, Pick 224: Kyonte Hamilton, DT, Rutgers
Back to the Chase Claypool trade. You didn’t think the Dolphins would straight up give the Bears a sixth-round pick without something else in exchange. Chicago sent Claypool and their seventh-round pick to Miami in exchange for 192. The Dolphins then sent it to the Texans, who drafted defensive tackle Kyonte Hamilton.
Round 7, Pick 240: Kaden Prather, WR, Maryland
The Bears received this seventh-round pick from the Browns as part of the trade for defensive tackle Chris Williams. Chicago then sent it to Buffalo as part of the Bills’ trade to move up to 41st overall. They ultimately landed wide receiver Kaden Prather at 240.
