Erie Otters' fans denied in-person chances to watch the team before its 2025-26 OHL season

The Erie Otters’ Ontario Hockey League exhibition schedule lists no games at Erie Insurance Arena.

Even when they’re the designated “home” team.

The Otters’ five scrimmages before their 2025-26 regular season opener will take place on Ontario rinks. They’ll twice face Peterborough within 24 hours, Aug. 30 at 7:05 p.m. and Aug. 31 at 2:05 p.m.

Labor Day weekend has Erie up against the London Knights, the reigning league and Memorial Cup champions. They’ll meet at London’s Canada Life Place on Sept. 5 and the Western Fair Sports Centre on Sept.6.

Each game has opening puck drops of 7 p.m.

Although the Otters and Flint (Michigan) Firebirds are American franchises, their game also will be held in Ontario. They’ll face off Sept. 12 at 7:30 p.m. at the William Allman Memorial Arena in Stratford, Ontario, located between London and Kitchener.

The 2025-26 Otters officially debut Sept. 19 at Guelph. Their first game at EIA is Sept. 20 at 7 p.m. against Kitchener.

That will be Erie’s first home appearance since London completed a four-game sweep of the teams’ Robertson Cup playoff series this past April.
