One of the best high school basketball programs in the nation is taking its talents to Fort Lauderdale.
Prolific Prep, consistently among the top teams—including a finish inside the top 15 in the final USA TODAY Sports Super 25 rankings—announced it will move from coast to coast, relocating from Napa, California to Fort Lauderdale, Florida ahead of the next season.
In the 11 years that Prolific Prep played in Napa, the team was home to a number of elite recruits that turned into NBA players including Josh Jackson, Gary Trent Jr., Jalen Green and Yves Messi. The Crew has been to each of the last six Chipotle National tournaments and had 14 McDonald’s All Americans, including 247Sports’ 2025 No. 1 player Darryn Peterson.
Prolific Prep is coming off 35-6 season in which they reached the Chipotle semifinals behind Peterson and four-star power forward Niko Bundalo. This was the third year in a row that the team had won at least 30 games.
Prolific Prep’s facility in Fort Lauderdale will feature a practice court, strength staff, weight room, team rooms and “advanced recovery suits,” according to ESPN.
There, the team will be in close proximity to Montverde Academy and IMG Academy, both of which are also among the top basketball teams year-in and year-out, vying for national championships and high placements in the Super 25 national rankings.
At the cost of California losing one of its top teams, Florida status as a high school basketball powerhouses is set to become even stronger. Watch Prolific Prep in Fort Lauderdale beginning later this year.
