Draft Grades: Jets select Mason Taylor

There was much speculation that linked the New York Jets to the likes of Tyler Warren early on in the draft process, but as it turned out the team was more comfortable waiting until the second day of the draft to land a new weapon for Justin Fields. With the 42nd pick in the 2025 NFL Draft the Jets managed to land LSU tight end Mason Taylor, son of Miami Dolphins Hall of Famer Jason Taylor.

Taylor is a prototypical modern tight end with the speed, frame, and skillset any team could want out of starting player at the position. While he is still a bit raw in terms of size and blocking capabilities, Taylor can certainly grow more into his body and into his role as a starting tight end. There is very little competition at the position in New York and Taylor should see action right away.
