Iowa City High baseball player Dominic Salibi and Clear Creek Amana softball player Lizzie Pasbrig were voted by readers as the Press-Citizen’s Athletes of the Week for June 16-22.
Salibi won boys Athlete of the Week with 46% of the vote.
The senior Little Hawk helped City High baseball earn an 8-3 victory over Xavier on June 20. Salibi earned two hits, an RBI and a stolen base against the Saints.
Pasbrig earned girls Athlete of the Week with 56% of the vote.
Pasbrig went 3-for-3 at the plate during CCA softball’s 10-1 victory over Mount Vernon in five innings on June 16. With her mouth wired shut from a broken jaw, Pasbrig had three hits and three RBIs against the Mustangs.
