Dolphins duo among CBS' top 100 players entering 2025 NFL season

Miami is looking to bounce back from an 8-9 finish a season ago that left the Dolphins outside the NFL playoffs after consecutive trips in the two seasons beforehand.

As the Dolphins look to author a bounce-back campaign, Miami needs its stars to be the best versions of themselves.

In CBS’ annual look at the NFL’s top 100 players, the Dolphins boast a duo among that group headed into the 2025 season. There’s just one problem for Miami: One of its biggest stars is likely on his way out in short order.

Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill was ranked as the league’s No. 30 player, while cornerback Jalen Ramsey checked in as the No. 99 player in the NFL. Both players suffered significant drops in the rankings as compared to this time last year.

Hill fell from No. 4 to No. 30, while Ramsey dipped from No. 43 to No. 99.

Here’s what CBS had to say about both:

No. 30: Tyreek Hill, WR

After two dominant seasons with the Dolphins, Hill’s numbers were down in 2024. There were a lot of reasons, but he wasn’t the same player. He had just 81 catches with six touchdowns. This is a big year for him.

No. 99: Jalen Ramsey, CB

Ramsey’s play has definitely tailed off some from his best years, but he still deserves a spot on this list. Where he plays this season remains a mystery since he will be traded. But he can still help a team with secondary needs. But is he worth salary? – Pete Prisco, CBS.

Trade speculation continues to swirl around Dolphins cornerback Jalen Ramsey and it still appears as though it’s just a matter of time before Ramsey heads back to the West Coast.

Hill recently said publicly that he’s going to put the full court press on a Ramsey return to South Florida. Time will tell whether or not that can indeed be effective.

In the meantime, CBS’ top 100 illustrates the importance of Hill on the Dolphins’ 2025 fortunes in particular. Miami needs Hill to recapture the type of playmaking magic he authored during the 2022 and 2023 seasons when he notched back-to-back 1,700-yard receiving seasons.

The defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles led the way in CBS’ top 100 player rankings with 10, while the Detroit Lions had eight players on the list.
