Last year, quarterback Josh Allen went viral with his drawing of the Buffalo Bills logo, which fans found more resembled a potato. As it turns out, Allen’s Picasso-like skills have earned him a new opportunity in the world of fashion.

Allen has expanded his ambassador role at New Era Cap, a partnership he’s had since entering the NFL in 2018. Wednesday, New Era Cap announced that Allen has been named “Director of Billustration”.

In this new partnership, New Era will allow Allen an opportunity to do what he loves off the football field: honor and give back to the Buffalo community.

In collaboration with Buffalo’s Oishei Children’s Hospital (OCH) and the Patricia Allen Fund, Allen will wear nine different 9FORTY® Billustration Team Caps that have been specially customized by OCH patients during the tunnel fit walk at each Bills home game this season.

After each game, the cap Allen wore will be auctioned off to the public with proceeds going to the Patricia Allen Fund. The Patricia Allen Fund, founded by Allen’s family in honor of his grandmother, benefits the critical care teams at OCH, with 100% of donations directly used for the care of Western New York’s children and families.

Additionally, the 2024 MVP’s iconic logo sketch has been turned into a limited edition hat in white and blue versions that is available to purchase at neweracap.com.

In this new role, Allen becomes the first-ever ambassador to receive investment stake in the company along with his new title.

“Buffalo has become home for me and giving back to the community through my partnership with New Era means a lot,” said Allen via the press release.

“The long-term partnership we have built over the years is personal. New Era has believed in me since I was a rookie, and I believe in the brand and where we are going. In my new role as Director of Billustration, I want to create something that connects football, fashion, and the amazing kids who inspire me every day.”

The announcement aligns Allen’s generous heart for philanthropy work in upstate New York with a new chapter in New Era’s longstanding support of Buffalo’s sports culture and community.

And it may even improve Josh’s art skills down the line.
