Olympique de Marseille are engaged in talks to sign Real Madrid’s Dani Ceballos (29), as revealed by Fabrizio Romano. Those attempts are independent of the ongoing Adrien Rabiot (30) situation. The Frenchman’s situation remains murky. Transfer listed after a dressing room bust-up involving now-former Marseille forward Jonathan Rowe, Roberto De Zerbi nonetheless expressed a desire to repair the relationship. 

Should Rabiot stay, which is by no means a given, Ceballos’ prospective move to OM would not be thrown into question, Romano understands. The Spaniard is keen on a move to the Vélodrome, as initially reported by Foot Mercato. 

The deal, should it happen, would be a loan that would include an obligation to make the deal permanent at the end of the season. The value of that obligation clause is thought to be under €15m. That is a figure below Rabiot’s price tag. OM value the Frenchman at €15m amid interest from clubs in Serie A and the Premier League.
