It’s clear that Ketel Marte’s Arizona Diamondbacks teammates have his back, as do fans, opponents and everyone else after a fan horribly heckled him about his mother dying in a car crash in 2017.
That includes his D-Backs manager Torey Lovullo. In video captured by a fan, you can see Lovullo yelling at the fan in question, screaming, “You dumb [expletive], his mom died, you dumb [expletive]!” The rest is hard to hear, but it seems like he might have been telling security to get the fan thrown out of the stadium.

The Ketel Marte heckler was banned “indefinitely” by the Chicago White Sox and MLB
“According to a source, MLB and the White Sox worked together and agreed to ban the fan from all major league ballparks indefinitely.”
Torey Lovullo had more to say about the Ketel Marte incident after the game
“It was a terrible moment,” an emotional Lovullo said after the game. “Fans are nasty, and fans go too far. I love my players, and I’m going to protect them.
“I’ve known Ketel for nine years, and he’s had some unbelievably great moments and some hardships, as well. Some really, really tough moments in his life, and I know those. At the end of the day, we’re human beings and we have emotions. I saw him hurting, and I wanted to protect him.”
