Cubs' Kyle Tucker Gets $500 Million Contract Prediction After Dodgers News

Cubs’ Kyle Tucker Gets $500 Million Contract Prediction After Dodgers News originally appeared on Athlon Sports.

When the Chicago Cubs traded for Kyle Tucker last offseason, they had to have understood that he would be a ton of money on the free agency market.

Tucker, who is undoubtedly one of the better players in baseball, has only gone up in price over the past few months. After Juan Soto took his deal, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. got $500 million, and other decisions around Major League Baseball, there’s no debating that Tucker had a smile on his face after all these deals.

But some are still uncertain what that contract could look like.

When searching for what it might be, Forbes recently predicted that it could be as high as $50 million per year, which would likely be around a 10-year deal for $500 million.

“Let’s say Tucker can command a 10-year, $500 million contract. That’s $50 million a year — an increase of $33.5 million for 2026 and beyond. This is the position Crane and the Astros avoided by trading Tucker. But the reality is the Cubs should generate enough revenue to handle a mega contract without compromising the team they put behind Tucker,” they wrote.

It sounds crazy to say, but if Tucker only gets $500 million, the Cubs should be very happy.

Some have suggested that the Los Angeles Dodgers could be interested, according to reports, but it remains uncertain how much they’re willing to offer.

The Cubs seem to have the upper hand here, so there’s truly no reason not to get something done this winter.
