Cowboys’ ‘Mario Bros’ Announce ‘Special’ Plan For CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens vs. NFL Rivals originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
The Dallas Cowboys’ offense in 2025 will be centered around receiver duo CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens, with the pair set to command a lot of attention.
Both seen as genuine No. 1 receivers, Dak Prescott finally has a solid supporting cast to get the passing game rolling. We chuck in Jake Ferguson, Jalen Tolbert, and even Jaydon Blue and KaVontae Turpin as pass-catchers too, but the headline act is George and CeeDee.
Many think that with Dak and his two receivers, the pair could become a top duo in the NFL in Brian Schottenheimer’s system.
But does George believe that?
“Yeah, for sure,” he said definitively.
And when asked why?
“Just different type of styles of play,” Pickens replied. “A lot of people over the years got different type of styles of play, but CeeDee is a certain type of guy, I’m a certain type of guy. So, when you mesh that together, it’s like Mario Bros. We definitely could do something special.”
Mario Bros.! Folks, we have a new nickname for this receiver tandem.
There were concerns over how each would take not getting the majority of the targets in Schottenheimer’s offense, but it has been clear from Day 1 since Pickens arrived that egos had been shelved, and team success takes precedence over individual glory.
Granted, when the tough times arrive, that will be a true test of that, but right now, Pickens and Lamb are two peas in a pod in Oxnard.
Just like Mario and Luigi.
