Cowboys’ Jalen Tolbert Lifts Lid On ‘Great Guy’ George Pickens originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
The more we hear about Dallas Cowboys receiver George Pickens, the more we lean away from the narratives and how he has been portrayed during his time in Pittsburgh.
Thought of as a problematic player when the Cowboys traded for him, some thought that his fiery personality would be the undoing of the offense, but as training camp continues in Oxnard, everyone has had nothing but glowing words to say about Pickens the player, but also Pickens the person.
And now we have Jalen Tolbert.
“He’s a great guy, great character, and that’s the story that people don’t see is the hard work that he does put in,” Tolbert said. “He loves football. So, that’s something that you cannot question about him, and like I say, that speaks and jumps off the tape and jumps off the field, in the meeting room, he can do the same thing.”
Pickens did allude to the fact that he doesn’t want to be a “princess” on the field, and maybe he might get white line fever, but that’s the competitive beast that is inside him.
Yes, it might get him in a little bit of trouble at times, but it is clear head coach Brian Schottenheimer is working on getting his players to play on the edge, but don’t cross the line.
Yes, things are going well right now, but when the true adversity hits, that will be the true test of Pickens’ mentality.
But so far, Pickens has been a superb addition to the Dallas locker room, both as a player and person.
