Cowboys Fans See Dallas As 1 Move Away From Playoff Push

The Dallas Cowboys’ offseason, one can say with some authority has been rather productive and even has some sections of the fanbase in a positive mood about 2025.

With a solid enough free agency haul that saw a host of starting-caliber and depth pieces added on the cheap, then the draft came.

For most, the Cowboys hit it out of the park with Tyler Booker, Donovan Ezeiruaku, Shavon Revel Jr., and Jaydon Blue, the pick of the bunch to inject some juice into all three positions.

But that left one glaring hole on the roster – receiver.

Well, after a will they or won’t they week or so, the Cowboys orchestrated a trade for Pittsburgh Steelers receiver George Pickens to fill the most obvious roster hole with an explosive weapon who could easily be considered a 1B receiver instead of a No. 2.

So that almost puts a full stop on what can easily be described as one of the best Cowboy offseasons in recent memory.

What would make it complete? Cowboys fans have every reason to believe this can be a team that pushes for the playoffs if they get “labor peace.”

In the form of …

A Micah Parsons contract extension.

With talks still ongoing and the thought Parsons will receive roughly $40 million APY and a five-year deal, that would put the finishing touches on a superb Cowboys offseason.

Granted, these deals take time, and with the Pickens trade going through, optimism is high among the fanbase, but the longer Micah goes unsigned, the more people shift nervously in their seats.

There is no deadline for Micah’s extension, but training camp looms as a “loose” one that many have their eye on.

Parsons doesn’t want to wait for his future to be sorted, and with most of the big-ticket items already discussed, according to Jerry Jones, it does feel like a matter of time before the “Lion” puts pen to paper.

And when he does, it might be the ideal way to end the Cowboys’ offseason business. … while triggering a run back to the playoffs.
