Cowboys fan burns Micah Parsons jersey — how Steelers' T.J. Watt played a role in trade

The Pittsburgh Steelers all but sealed Micah Parsons’ fate with Dallas after making T.J. Watt the highest-paid non-quarterback over a month ago — and an irate Cowboys fan just took drastic measures following the blockbuster Packers trade.

Following Green Bay’s acquisition of Parsons, a fan posted a video of himself burning his Cowboys jersey in an expletive-filled rant that has since gone viral on social media (Warning: clip contains strong language that some may find inappropriate).

Watt’s $123 million deal may have forced Parsons’ exit

Back in July, Parsons admitted that Watt’s record deal was weighing on his mind in regard to his own contract negotiations with Dallas — wishing he could’ve had similar “energy” from the Cowboys.

“When you go around the league, you see these other teams taking care of their best guys,” Parsons said a few weeks ago. “I see T.J. got taken care of. Maxx [Crosby] got taken care of. Myles [Garrett] got taken care of, and he’s got two years left on his deal. You see a lot of people in our league getting taken care of, and you wish you had that same type of energy.”

Ten days after Parsons’ comments on Watt and other edge rushers went viral, he requested a trade — setting the stage for one of the biggest blockbuster deals the NFL has ever seen.

While the Cowboys should’ve taken notes from Pittsburgh on how to pay their star players, Dallas did walk away with a hefty haul of draft picks — potentially offering a glimpse at what could’ve been if the Steelers’ negotiations with Watt had turned sour.
