Contract details for Colts' third-round pick CB Justin Walley

Prior to rookie minicamp, the Indianapolis Colts agreed to contract terms with third-round draft pick Justin Walley. Over the Cap now has those contract details.

When it comes to rookie deals, the rookie wage scale sets the parameters, based on where the player was drafted, that puts in place a ceiling and a floor for how much each draft pick can earn over their standard four-year contract.

For Walley, who was taken at 80th overall, his total contract value is $6.44 million and includes $1.32 million in a fully guaranteed signing bonus.

From a cap perspective, that signing bonus amount will be prorated over the four years of the contract, in the form of a $331,639 cap hit each year.

In Year 1, Walley will earn a base salary of $840,000. In Year 2, the base salary will increase to $1.13 million, followed by $1.42 million, and then $1.71 million in Year 4.

Justin Walley’s salary cap hits each year with Indianapolis Colts

  • 2025: $1.171 million
  • 2026: $1.464 million
  • 2027: $1.757 million
  • 2028: $2.05 million

Walley was very stingy in coverage this past season, allowing a completion rate of just 42%. For his career, quarterbacks never completed more than 59% of their passes against him, and Walley recorded seven interceptions and 16 pass breakups, per PFF.

His combination of speed, ball skills, and versatility makes him an ideal fit for Lou Anarumo’s defensive disguise-heavy scheme that can ask cornerbacks to play on an island.
