Connor Hickman leaves Cincinnati Bearcats basketball via portal. Needs medical redshirt

Connor Hickman, a 6-foot-3 shooting guard who transferred from Bradley, is the latest Cincinnati Bearcats basketball player to enter the transfer portal.

For Hickman to play anywhere, he’ll have to be granted a medical redshirt by the NCAA as he played into January for the Bearcats before spending the bulk of the season with a protective boot on his foot. The Enquirer has been told that Hickman was roughly 35 minutes over the allowable time to be granted such a redshirt.

Hickman was recruited by former UC assistant Drew Adams who knew him from Bradley. Adams has since left for Indiana. Hickman in 13 games averaged 4.3 points per game, 2.5 rebounds and 1.2 assists. His high game came in early December when he had 14 points at Georgia Tech. Hickman was a starter for UC while Dan Skillings Jr. was injured early in the season.
