Commanders' veteran receiver carted off field during minicamp

The Washington Commanders re-signed veteran wide receiver Noah Brown this offseason after he impressed in 2024. Unfortunately, Brown suffered an apparent injury during Wednesday’s minicamp practice and was carted off the field, per Nicki Jhabvala of The Washington Post.

Brown suffered the injury during 7-on-7 drills and appeared visibly frustrated once he came to the sideline.

Brown, 29, was Washington’s second-leading receiver when he went down with a kidney injury in Week 13 last season. Brown would finish the year with 35 receptions for 453 yards and one touchdown. The one touchdown came on quarterback Jayden Daniels’ now-famous Hail Mary throw to defeat the Chicago Bears.

While the Commanders added to the receiver room this offseason, trading for Deebo Samuel and drafting Jaylin Lane, Washington brought back Brown because he offers size (6-foot-2, 225), versatility (helps on special teams) and is a revered teammate.

Brown began his NFL career with the Dallas Cowboys in 2017, spending six seasons there before signing with the Houston Texans in 2023. The Texans surprisingly made Brown a final cut last summer and the Commanders quickly claimed him.

There was no further update on Brown’s injury, but head coach Dan Quinn is scheduled to speak to the media after Thursday’s final minicamp practice.
