Maddie Moore delivered the biggest swing of the night, and Clemson’s offense took over from there.
Trailing 3-1 in the fourth, Moore crushed a go-ahead three-run homer to left as Clemson surged past Boston College for an 8-4 win Friday night at McWhorter Stadium. The home run was part of a four-hit inning that flipped the game and helped the Tigers lock up their sixth straight ACC series and extend their win streak to eight games.
Clemson (37-11, 16-4 ACC) had a slow start both at the plate and in the circle. Despite opening the bottom of the first with back-to-back singles from Alex Brown and Moore, the Tigers left both runners stranded. Meanwhile, Boston College (19-23, 4-13 ACC) capitalized early, tagging Clemson starter Brooke McCubbin for three runs across the first three innings. The Eagles got on the board in the first with a leadoff double, a sacrifice bunt, and a fielder’s choice. They added another in the second with a pair of singles and pushed the lead to 3-0 in the third with a solo homer.
Freshman Macey Cintron took over in the circle and quickly made an impact. After holding BC scoreless in the top of the fourth, she got things going offensively as well with an RBI double. Brown added an RBI single to cut the deficit to one before Moore launched her three-run shot to give Clemson its first lead of the game.

The Tigers added three more runs in the sixth to put the game out of reach. Brockenbrough opened the inning with a double, followed by singles from Moore and Brown, then Cintron blasted a home run to cap the scoring.
Brown and Moore were unstoppable at the plate, each going 4-for-4 with five combined RBI. “Those two (Brown and Moore) are such veteran hitters and it doesn’t matter how many outs there are, they’re going to give you quality at-bats,” head coach John Rittman said. “Really proud of those two and the way they performed tonight.”
Cintron finished 2-for-3 with a double and a home run, while Pipkins and Brockenbrough each chipped in a hit. In the circle, McCubbin gave up three runs — only one earned — on five hits over two innings. She did not record a strikeout or walk.
Clemson will look to complete the sweep on Sunday.
