Chicago Sky Announce Kamilla Cardoso News in First Game Back After Temporary Leave originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
For the first time since June 24, the Chicago Sky welcomed back their second-year star Kamilla Cardoso to the court on Wednesday night against the Dallas Wings.
Cardoso had been on a temporary leave to compete in the 2025 AmeriCup with the Brazilian National Team, which fell short in the championship against Team USA.
In her return, while still active on the basketball court, head coach Tyler Marsh chose to ease her back into action. Coming off the bench against the Wings, Cardoso finished with nine points, four rebounds, and four assists in 22 minutes, helping the Sky secure a much-needed win to improve to 6-13 on the season.
During the game, the Sky made a major announcement celebrating Cardoso’s milestone: she officially reached 500 career points in franchise history—a significant achievement for the former South Carolina star.
“500 CAREER POINTS FOR KMILL,” the Sky posted.

Fans reacted to the milestone:
“Congrats Kamilla but you and angel need to wake up Saturday,” a fan said.
Another fan posted, “More milestones in this jersey to come. Congratulations Big Milla!”
Someone else added, “Let’s go Milla!”
“500 and counting. Congrats Milla,” one more fan commented.
This season, through 14 regular-season games played entering Wednesday night, Cardoso is averaging 12.7 points, 6.6 rebounds, 1.7 assists, and 0.8 blocks per game while shooting an efficient 56.1% from the field.
For most of the season, she has been starting alongside Angel Reese. Following this win, it will be interesting to see how head coach Tyler Marsh adjusts the lineup, especially with Reese playing the best basketball of her season and Elizabeth Williams now moved into the starting five.
