Charles Barkley Left Stunned by Steph Curry's Injury in Warriors-Rockets Game

There has been a lot of talk surrounding Steph Curry’s thumb injury before, throughout and after the Golden State Warriors’ 131-116 blowout loss against the Houston Rockets in Game 5 on Wednesday.

Heading into the matchup, a photo of Curry’s thumb made its rounds on social media. Curry has been dealing with an injury on his right thumb since January, and the former back-to-back MVP aggravated it at the end of the regular season.

The photo of Curry’s swollen thumb drew all sorts of reactions from the fans, including one from NBA on TNT analyst Charles Barkley, who was pretty much left in disbelief after seeing the state of the Warriors superstar’s hand.

“Is that his real thumb?” a perplexed Barkley asked. “… That doesn’t look like a human thumb.”

Curry still played through the injury in Game 5, but he wasn’t able to do much on the court. Much like the rest of the Warriors squad, Curry was held down to just 13 points on 4-of-12 shooting as the Rockets made easy work of their opponents in Wednesday’s lopsided contest.

It is worth noting that Houston star Dillon Brooks has been facing accusations about intentionally targeting Curry’s injured thumb during the game, which the controversial forward refused to deny.

The good news for the Warriors here is that Curry is very likely going to continue playing through this issue moving forward. This should include Game 6 on Friday as Golden State looks to close this series out once and for all.
