ChadTough Foundation auction items: Tarik Skubal, golf with Michigan football, Jim Harbaugh

There’s still time to bid on exclusive University of Michigan experiences and memorabilia for a great cause.

The 2025 ChadTough Gala Online Auction runs through May 10 at 9:30 p.m., with funds going toward research to help cure pediatric brain cancer, particularly diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma (DIPG).

Chad Carr, the grandson of former Michigan football national championship coach Lloyd Carr, remains the inspiration for the drive after he was diagnosed with DIPG in September 2014.

“Chad would undergo 30 rounds of radiation at Mott and then participate in a clinical trial at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York. He bravely fought for 14 months before gaining his angel wings on November 23, 2015,” the ChadTough website reads.

Chad Carr, the grandson of Michigan football Hall of Famers Lloyd Carr and Tom Curtis, died of a brain tumor Nov. 23, 2015. He was 5 years old.

That’s why each year, the ChadTough foundation runs an annual online auction in hopes to find a cure and end this deadly disease. This year, the auction item options are truly a dream for the Michigan − or Detroit − sports fan.

Golf with a Michigan football play-caller

Want to play golf with Michigan defensive coordinator Wink Martindale at Radrick Farms? How about offensive coordinator Chip Lindsey at the University of Michigan course? Those are items up for auction.

“As you navigate the fairways, you’ll have the chance to talk football, strategy, and leadership with Coach Martindale while enjoying a day of camaraderie and competition,” one listing reads.

“The experience also includes photo opportunities and the chance to meet and chat with Coach Lindsey,” says another listing.

Ultimate Chargers experience with Jim Harbaugh

Los Angeles Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh speaks to the media after the first day of training camp at The Bolt on Wednesday, July 24, 2024 in El Segundo, California.

There’s an opportunity for the “ultimate Chargers experience” to join former coach Jim Harbaugh as well as a number of his staffers who were also previously in Ann Arbor like Jesse Minter, Mike Elston, Steve Clinkscale, and Ben Herbert for a day at NFL training camp with VIP access, including an on-field portion for autographs and photo opportunities with players and coaches.

It also includes a $1,000 Delta travel card and signed football from Harbaugh.

Hello, Tigers and Tarik Skubal

The Detroit Tigers currently are tied for the best record in baseball and they have provided an opportunity to watch for four people to have tickets to a game, watch batting practice from the field and meet and greet with defending AL Cy Young winner Tarik Skubal, full with photos and an autograph.

A one-of-a-kind day with Michigan basketball

Another option still includes four tickets to a Michigan basketball game, but not just any seats, courtside directly next to the Michigan bench. Tour the player development center with coach Dusty May’s wife, Anna, and then get an opportunity to meet the players and coaches before seeing the game from their vantage point.

Michigan head coach Dusty May cheers on after a play against Auburn during the second half of the Sweet 16 round of NCAA tournament at State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Ga. on Friday, March 28, 2025.

How about a getaway trip

There are options for the non-sports fans, too. Trips include a three-night stay for up to eight people in a three-bedroom bath cottage overlooking Lake Huron at the Inn at Stonecliffe, a three-night stay in a King Room at the Zemi Beach House Hotel & Spa, a five-star award-winning resort in Anguilla or even a Mercedes-Benz AMG experience.

More items for bidding

There are bourbon tours, necklaces, arts, training sessions with Michigan trainers, custom suits, date nights in Detroit, dinner with Michigan football coaches and much more among the hundreds of items available.
