Tyrese Haliburton stunned the NBA world — again! — with yet another moment of late-game heroics and his father looked so incredibly smug about it all.
Game 1 of NBA Finals between the Indiana Pacers and Oklahoma City Thunder took place on Monday night, with Haliburton’s dad — John Haliburton — back in attendance. John Haliburton was previously banned from attending Pacers’ games at home and on the road after his heated first-round confrontation with Giannis Antetokounmpo. For the NBA Finals, however, it seems as if Haliburton’s ban was lifted as he was spotted in the stands during the road Game 1 for the Pacers.
Indiana, however, didn’t have a great go of Game 1 for the majority of the match. The Thunder nearly led by 20 points at one point during the game, but the Pacers — as they’ve been wont to do this postseason — were able to claw their way back into the game and made it extremely close by the end.
With 22.8 seconds left and with the Thunder leading 110-109, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander missed a jump shot that allowed the Pacers to storm back down the field. Tyrese Haliburton maneuvered down the court and found a bit of space to fire off a long jumper that miraculously went in with 0.3 seconds to play!
