Pope Leo XIV, we now know, is a confirmed White Sox fan since he’s from the south side of Chicago (there’s photo proof of him at the 2005 World Series!).

But Chicago Bears fans are using his birthplace as hope that the Caleb Williams era will be successful, despite the fact that there are more popes from Chicago (one) than 4,000-yard passers in Bears history (zero).

Which brings us to Williams, who saw the news of Pope Leo being named to the papacy and posted a terrific joke on X (formerly Twitter): a reference to the Bill Swerski’s Superfans SNL sketch that everyone was making on Thursday.
