The 2025 NFL draft is less than two weeks away, and there’s plenty of anticipation building around the Chicago Bears as they look to put an emphatic stamp on their offseason. Chicago holds the 10th overall pick, four picks in the Top 75 selections, and seven total picks, where they have the opportunity to add some impact contributors.
There’s been plenty of speculation and discussion about who the Bears will take at No. 10 with many mock drafts and analysts believing the team will either go running back or offensive line. There’s also the possibility that Chicago adds a pass rusher depending on how the picks ahead of them fall. But most of the discussion is around the offensive side of the ball for new head coach Ben Johnson.
As the team began their offseason workouts last week, quarterback Caleb Williams was asked about what he thinks the team will do in the draft, and his response was simple — getting the best player, regardless of position.
“I think we’ll be going for the best player we can get,” Williams said. “You always want to be in that position, that’s something I’ve learned about. When you draft, you want to be in a position to take the best player and I think right now we’re in position to get the best guy that we think is needed for the team. The group that we have right now is amazing, the holes that we filled in free agency and all of that, it’s time where at the draft, you get to draft the best players.”
The work done by general manager Ryan Poles to upgrade this roster has been extensive, but the job is not done yet. The Bears have done the work to fill the biggest holes on their roster, and now they’ll head into the draft with the luxury of taking the best player available, as long as they’re the right fit.
