Caitlin Clark’s Exchange With Indiana Fever Teammate Draws Attention originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
After missing the last two games due to a lingering groin injury, Caitlin Clark was able to join her Indiana Fever teammates at practice on Sunday. It was a welcome development for an Indiana side that has continued to struggle without its best player on the court.
The Fever took to Instagram to share some snaps from Sunday’s practice session as they make their final preparations for Tuesday’s big game. Indiana will battle the defending champions, the Minnesota Lynx, in the Commissioner’s Cup championship game, as the Fever look to take home their first trophy since winning the WNBA title in 2012.
One of the photos in the post featured Clark with her arm wrapped around teammate Sydney Colson as the two shared a heartwarming moment in what seemed like an intense practice session.
Both Clark and Colson reacted to the photo on their respective Instagram accounts. Clark described Colson as a “good pal,” while the veteran reacted by saying that Clark is “obsessed w/ me.”

The light-hearted exchange quickly drew the attention of fans on social media.
“Bro I love these two, their friendship is underrated,” a comment on X read.
“They’re the same personality and it’s hilarious,” another said.
“That’s her vet from day one,” a user posted.
“Such a Syd thing to say 😂” a reaction read.
“Again just so surprised by her positive impact. Never expected it but not going to lie I like it,” said another.
“Love me some CYD 🖤” a supporter wrote.
There’s no denying that Clark is the centerpiece of the Fever, but, as some of the fans pointed out above, Colson has also been integral to Indiana’s success this season.
The two-time WNBA champ joined the Fever as a free agent during the offseason, and she has since been a key part of head coach Stephanie White’s rotation. In 15 appearances this season, the 5-foot-8 guard has averaged 2.7 points and 2.3 assists in 15.5 minutes per contest.
More importantly, Colson brings a lot of experience to the table for Indiana. Her relationship with Clark, both on and off the court, is also something that cannot be undervalued.
