Caitlin Clark Update Emerges After Missing Two Indiana Fever Games originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
The Indiana Fever are gearing up for the Commissioner’s Cup championship on Tuesday night against the Minnesota Lynx. The biggest storyline for Indiana remains the status of their star guard Caitlin Clark.
Clark has already missed seven games this season. She was unable to play for more than two weeks after sustaining a left quad injury during the May 24 game against the New York Liberty, missing five games in that stretch.
A left groin injury caused Clark to miss the Fever’s last two games, including the hard-fought 94-86 win over the Dallas Wings on Friday.
Sunday brought some positive news for Indiana fans. Fever beat reporter Scott Agness provided an encouraging update:

Clark, now in her second WNBA season, is averaging 18.2 points and 8.9 assists per game. She has appeared in nine games so far, with her most recent on June 24 when she scored just six points in 31 minutes of play.
Her best outing came during a Commissioner’s Cup game on June 14. In that matchup against the New York Liberty, Clark exploded for 32 points, along with eight rebounds and nine assists, leading the Fever to victory.
The Fever are 8-8 and currently sit third in the Eastern Conference, trailing the Liberty and Atlanta Dream. The Washington Mystics follow closely behind at 8-9.
Minnesota, meanwhile, is aiming for back-to-back Commissioner’s Cup titles after defeating New York in last year’s final. Napheesa Collier earned MVP honors in that game. Indiana is hoping to become the fifth different team to win the cup since its inception in 2021.
Earlier today, both Collier and Clark were named captains for the upcoming WNBA All-Star Game.
