The Buffalo Bills’ depth along their defensive line will be put to the test this season, as a team that was already going to be without suspended veterans Michael Hoecht and Larry Ogunjobi for the first six weeks has now reportedly lost defensive tackle DeWayne Carter for the entire season after Carter suffered an Achilles tear in practice.
Today’s edition of Buffalo Rumblinks leads off by examining how big of a blow Carter’s injury is and who will have to step up with Carter sidelined.
DT DeWayne Carter tears Achilles, will miss 2025 season
During Wednesday’s practice session, second-year defensive tackle DeWayne Carter tore his Achilles, an injury that will sideline him for the entire 2025 NFL season. Carter, a third-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, was expected to contribute as a valuable part of the Bills’ defensive line rotation.
Below: Catch up on news about Carter’s injury, including a few options to replace Carter as part of Buffalo’s rotation — both internally through practice squad players Jordan Phillips and Zion Logue — and externally through former Bill Casey Rogers and other potential free-agent options.
