Milwaukee Bucks star Damian Lillard went down on the floor in Game 4 of their first-round series against the Indiana Pacers. The Bucks hope to protect their home court on Sunday night to prevent the Pacers from improving to a 3-1 series lead. However, another injury blow to their roster has affected their goal.
Lillard has only played two games in the postseason. On March 25, the All-Star guard was ruled out indefinitely due to a deep vein thrombosis in his right calf. He couldn’t finish the 2024-25 NBA season but returned in Game 2 of the postseason series against Indiana.
In Games 2 and 3, Lillard has had difficulty finding his rhythm on the floor. During that stretch, the former Weber State standout averaged 10.5 points on 24% shooting from the field.
Lillard left the game in the middle of the first quarter after he dove for the basketball. He grabbed his left ankle and had to be helped by the coaching staff on his way to the locker room. TNT’s Chris Haynes reported on X that the nine-time All-Star won’t return in Game 4.
Haynes also said the injury could be “severe.”
“Milwaukee Bucks star Damian Lillard will not return tonight against the Indiana Pacers, league sources tell me. Injury potentially severe.”

Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Bucks will have to play the rest of Game 4 without their primary ball handler. After Lillard went down, head coach Doc Rivers put Kevin Porter Jr. in his place.
For his second season in Milwaukee, Lillard appeared in 58 games. He averaged 24.9 points, 4.7 rebounds and 7.1 assists on a 44.8% shooting clip.
