For a team that has sustained an absurd amount of injury luck over the last two seasons, the Cleveland Browns have entered into mandatory minicamp rather healthy. All things considered, only five players on their roster are not on the field for mandatory minicamp as the team looks to bounce back from an abysmal 3-14 season.
Those five players missing from mandatory minicamp due to injuries are:
- QB Deshaun Watson
- WR Cedric Tillman
- WR David Bell
- WR Michael Woods
- DT Mike Hall Jr.
Watson has been seen lingering outside of the weight room and checking in on practice and his teammates while he continues to rehab from an achilles injury. Defensive tackle Mike Hall Jr. is still recovering from offseason knee surgery due to an injury that ended his rookie season.
The Browns are about to enter their dead period, a break of about 40 days, before they take the field again for the start of training camp. Can the Browns get to full strength and get their young players back on the field? Watson will not be ready to roll, but getting the rest of the group back would be a massive boost.
