The Cleveland Browns have named their team captains, and quarterback Joe Flacco has been named among them despite only being in Northeast Ohio for a short time.
This shows the immense impact that Flacco had on the team during his historic run in 2023, which won him the NFL Comeback Player of the Year award. The Browns went 5-1 in that run of starts from Flacco, clinching a wildcard spot. Flacco was then named the Browns’ starting quarterback after a highly anticipated quarterback battle fizzled out due to injuries to the three other quarterbacks in the room.
The other team captains named alongside Flacco were offensive guard Joel Bitonio, defensive end Myles Garrett, cornerback Denzel Ward, and punter Corey Bojorquez.

All of these names are repeat captains except for Bojorquez. In recent years, it was long snapper Charley Hughlett who had been the special teams captain; he was the longest-tenured Brown at the time. However, after parting ways with Hughlett this offseason as he battled injuries, Bojorquez now holds that title.
Who knows just how good the Browns will be in 2025, but they have the right leadership at the top of their roster.
