The path to the NHL has officially begun for Duke Lesnar, the son of famous American professional wrestler and former mixed martial artist Brock Lesnar.
The 14-year-old forward was selected with the No. 115 overall pick by the Medicine Hat Tigers in the 2025 WHL Prospects Draft, making his entry into one of North America’s top junior hockey leagues.
“Medicine Hat had a second pick in the fifth round, selecting forward Duke Lesnar of Alexandria, MN with the 115th pick,” Medicine Hat News’ James Tubb wrote. “The 115th overall pick was acquired on Oct. 18, 2022 as part of the deal that sent Oren Shtrom and two draft picks to the Everett Silvertips in exchange for goaltender Evan May and the selection.”

Duke Lesnar, son of WWE legend and former UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar, played the 2024-25 season with the Notre Dame Hounds U15 Prep team in Saskatchewan. He posted 28 points (13 goals, 15 assists) and racked up 43 penalty minutes in 30 games.
Originally from Minnesota, Duke moved to Saskatchewan in 2014 with his family and now follows his older brothers into competitive hockey.
Duke’s oldest brother, Alexander, plays ACHA DII hockey at Saint John’s University, while his other brother, Turk, plays U17 AAA at Notre Dame.
Meanwhile, Brock Lesnar has remained out of the public spotlight since SummerSlam 2023 and is currently inactive in WWE. At this time, there is no known return timeline for Brock.
The WHL selection positions Duke Lesnar as a player to watch ahead of the 2029 NHL Draft, with the Medicine Hat Tigers serving as the first stage in his amateur career.
