Brewers Stay Scorching Hot With Win Over Dodgers originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
The MLB trade deadline is less than two weeks away, and the divisional races are heating up. One of the most competitive is in the National League Central, where the Milwaukee Brewers and Chicago Cubs enter the new week with identical 59-40 records, tied atop the standings.
Both teams also share the best record in baseball alongside the Detroit Tigers. The Brewers have surged thanks to a red-hot stretch, capped by Sunday’s 6-5 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers, their tenth straight victory.
MLB celebrated the moment with a post on X:
“The @Brewers complete the sweep for their 10th straight W!”

The Brewers outscored the Dodgers 16-12 over the three-game series and have now won 10 straight games, including a sweep at home just before the All-Star break.
Pitching has carried the Brewers all season. Their team ERA of 3.67 ranks fourth in the National League. Offensively, they’re batting .249, but their aggressiveness on the base paths has been a difference-maker. Their 114 stolen bases lead the NL.
In Sunday’s win, Andrew Vaughn and Isaac Collins each had two hits. The Brewers finished with 11 total hits and drew four walks. Jose Quintana picked up his seventh win of the season, tossing six strong innings. Milwaukee used five pitchers to close it out.
The Brewers now head to Seattle for a three-game road series starting Monday. They return home this weekend to host the Miami Marlins. For the Dodgers, they have now dropped eight of their last ten games. Their divisional lead over San Diego is down to 3.5 games in the National League West.
