Good news for Bo Nix: his favorite target is sticking around for the duration of the quarterback’s rookie contract (and then some).
Nix is signed through the 2027 season, and his contract includes a fifth-year option for 2028. After agreeing to terms on a four-year extension on Monday, Denver Broncos wide receiver Courtland Sutton will now be signed through the 2029 season.
So, if all goes well, Nix’s WR1 will stick around for the duration of the QB’s rookie deal.
Dianna Russini of The Athletic attended Broncos practice on Monday, and she secured a one-on-one interview with Nix after practice. Shortly after the news of Sutton’s extension broke, she informed Nix of the agreement.
“Are you happy that Courtland Sutton got an extension?” she asked.
“If that’s true, absolutely,” Nix said with a little uncertainty.
“It’s true.”
“It’s true? Then yeah!”

Sutton was Nix’s favorite target last season as the duo connected 81 times for 1,081 yards and eight touchdowns. They’ll now look to build on those totals in 2025 and beyond.
