Bills' Josh Allen Tipped For 'Special Season' With 1 Big If

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen will enter the 2025 season as the defending MVP winner after the best year of his career in 2024.

Allen led the Bills to yet another division title and an AFC Championship appearance in Joe Brady’s offense, with one thing being the catalyst for Josh’s superb season – he limited his turnovers.

Having had at least 14 interceptions in his last three years, Allen had just six in 17 games last season, and none in his three playoff games. That was the big difference, and as such, the offense rolled on to be one of the best in football.

But can Josh repeat his MVP-like form in 2025?

The Athletic’s Joe Buscaglia thinks so, if one thing happens.

“Allen became one of the star quarterbacks of the NFL several years ago, and he’s continued to evolve year after year to stay in those conversations,” Buscaglia wrote. “But even by his incredibly high standards, Allen’s 2024 season was easily the best football he’s played over his entire career.

“Was his decision-making and efficiency combined with his usual high-level, multi-faceted quarterbacking a one-off, or was it the beginning of Allen’s true prime as one of, if not the best, player in the entire league? If it’s the latter, there could be another special season ahead for the Bills in 2025.”

The gunslinger who threw interceptions for fun was nowhere to be seen last season; instead, a more measured quarterback who threw to the open receiver, took what defenses gave him, and wasn’t reckless with the ball.

Part of Brady’s offense was the “everybody eats” mantra, meaning it doesn’t matter who gets the ball, all that matters is that the team wins. Free from the burden of having to force-feed the ball to say Stefon Diggs, Allen went about his business last year with aplomb.

And if he can do the same thing again in 2025 by keeping those pesky turnovers to a minimum and being an efficient, dual-threat quarterback, then there is every chance Allen could be in the MVP race yet again.

If he is, you can also bet the Bills will be in great shape for another tilt at the Super Bowl.
