Bijan Robinson And Christian McCaffrey Share Recovery Techniques During The Offseason

Bijan Robinson And Christian McCaffrey Share Recovery Techniques During The Offseason originally appeared on Athlon Sports.

Atlanta Falcons running back Bijan Robinson spent some time during the offseason sharing and learning recovery techniques from Christian McCaffrey.

Robinson is expected to take on more of a workload this upcoming season in Atlanta. Last year, he rushed for almost 1,500 yards and had four touchdowns. He also contributed 431 yards receiving out of the backfield. Robinson is a unique workhorse running back that you seldom see in the NFL anymore, although a fair share of carries were shared with fellow running back Tyler Allgeier.

The number of touches Robinson is expected to receive this season will require plenty of extra preparation and recovery. During the offseason, Robinson would spend time with San Francisco running back Christian McCaffrey to receive additional guidance on the recovery process.

So what did Robinson learn from the future Hall of Fame running back? “His recovery is top notch; he will make sure he’s recovered all the way before every training session. He wants to make sure he’s feeling 100%,” said Robinson, per AtlantaFalcons.com. “I took that away from him, and now I’m going to start doing the same thing because it’s only right to want to make sure your body’s at top-tier shape before you go onto the field. No matter what it is, if it’s a light day or a hard day, you always want to make sure you’re ready to go.”

Robinson would also spend some time in an altitude chamber with McCaffrey, and he would say, “It’s a new innovation, man. We were 18,000 feet in the air, but we were like in a machine. It was like the coolest thing ever.”
