Bengals QB Joe Burrow dominates his position in this key metric

Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow continues to have the well-earned reputation as one of the quickest releases in the NFL.

Burrow has made quick time-to-throw numbers a staple of his pro game and the numbers certainly back it up.

Pro Football Focus’ Mason Cameron recently examined the quickest releases in the NFL and revealed Burrow tops the NFL in passing grade on throws made in under 2.5 seconds:

“The Bengals‘ star passer amassed 2,863 yards on quick hitters (most in the NFL), with 17 big-time throws. More than 54% of that production came via air yards.”

As if that weren’t impressive enough, on throws over the 2.5-second mark, Burrow only falls to fourth in the NFL with an 83.1 grade.

Both of these are well-known features of Burrow’s game. When he’s firing fast, few in the NFL are ever better. And when he does need to navigate a messy pocket or extend plays, he’s one of the best in the NFL in that area, too.
