Bemidji Aerials secure more standout finishes at Region Four competition

May 1—MADISON, Wis. — The Bemidji Aerials traveled to the Region Four U.S.A. Xcel gymnastics competition in Madison, Wisconsin, over the weekend.

They were led by their head coach, Brittney Gimberline, who has taken her team to new heights this season. Region Four consists of teams from Iowa, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wisconsin.

The Aerials brought 15 gymnasts to compete in three levels.

At the Gold Level, Lexi Jacobson led all Aerials with 36.550, placing her third in All Around competition. She was followed by Avri Benson with a score of 35.850, landing in third on balance beam with 9.1.

Charlotte Banner scored a 35.400. Marlie Ophus notched a 35.35 in the all-around and took third on bars with 9.350. Ainsley Petersen scored a 35.225, while Claire Eastman finished at 35.1, Bella Hagman at 35.05, Letty Josephson at 34.975, Brynley Skerik at 34.675, Paisley Workman at 34.675, Braelyn Holmgren at 34.525, Hadley Peterson at 34.100, Ari Rogers at 32.925, Hailey Lundy at 32.575 and Scarlett Bodenheimer, competing in three of the four events, at 26.525.

Four Aerials competed at the Platinum Level. They were led by Aaliyah Wellcome with an all-around score of 36.375 and picking up third on balance beam with 9.325. She was followed by Jasminh Phonethep’s 35.500, who secured second on bars with a 9.4. Lydia Dauksavage scored a 34.625, while Aydah Fultz notched a 34.950, earning third on balance beam with a 9.325.

Our two Diamond competitors were Lucy Karpinski with a 35.7 all-around score, swinging into second on bars with 9.275. Lauren Bruley scored a 35.425.
