While the biggest narrative for new Chicago Bears head coach Ben Johnson is his upcoming working relationship with quarterback Caleb Williams, there are other offensive playmakers who should thrive with Johnson running the show.
One of the top playmakers who should see an uptick in their production compared to last year is wide receiver DJ Moore, who’s in line with the plan of his new head coach and how he’ll be involved in the offense. Understanding how his new coach plans to use him, Moore won’t reveal all the plans, and that makes it much more exciting to watch and see what’s to come from him this year.
Moore was asked about his time with Johnson so far and how the new-look offense was very much welcomed by the team.
“It’s not hard unless you’re not studying. If you’re studying and on your stuff and knowing different spots, you’ll be okay,” Moore said about Johnson’s offense, adding how he felt the team needed a new offensive direction. “Yeah. To shake things up, keep everybody motivated and going. You never know what you’re going to get the next day. Then there’s always a question of what we got and you’ve always got to be ready.”
For as much excitement as there is around this Bears team right now, Moore wouldn’t reveal any plans for his role this year, telling fans and media alike that they’ll have to tune in and find out together how he performs.
“You have to wait until the season to see,” he said. “You can’t give away too much because we’re doing a lot right now and throwing in a lot. We’re going to have to wait and see.”
With all the roster moves and coaching staff changes the Bears have made this offseason, the anticipation for the regular season is incredibly high. The Bears can’t just be a hype team in 2025, and they’ll need to put in the work and find success to take them to real contenders under Johnson.
