Bears safety Jaquan Brisker left practice early with trainer

The Chicago Bears have dealt with injuries to their secondary throughout the summer, and a former second-round pick might be the latest addition.

According to CHGO’s Adam Hoge, safety Jaquan Brisker left practice early with head trainer Andre Tucker on Wednesday. Brisker was checked out by Tucker and then took a cart back to the building. Hoge said it’s “unclear exactly what happened.”

Brisker is entering the final year of his rookie contract, where he’s looking to prove to the Bears that he play an entire season, something he’s yet to do in his first three years. Brisker has suffered three concussions in as many seasons. But it’s unclear what injury Brisker sustained, if any, during Wednesday’s practice.

Rookie linebacker Ruben Hyppolite II also left Wednesday’s practice early, according to Courtney Cronin. The Bears were also without linebacker T.J. Edwards and defensive end Dominique Robinson, who exited Tuesday’s practice.

Chicago has several key starters nursing injury, primarily on the defensive side of the football. Pro Bowl cornerback Jaylon Johnson, who suffered a leg injury before training camp, remains sidelined. But he was activated off the Non-Football Injury list, an indication he could be good to go for Week 1.

The Bears also have just one healthy running back on the roster in D’Andre Swift as veteran Roschon Johnson and rookie Kyle Monangai are sidelined and Travis Homer is on short-term injured reserve.
