Bears rookie Luther Burden III practices for first time in training camp

The Chicago Bears are back at Halas Hall for their fifth practice — their first in pads this summer — and they got some good news on Monday.

Rookie wide receiver Luther Burden III, who’s missed the first four practices as he deals with a hamstring injury suffered back in the offseason, is on the practice field for the first time this summer. He’s been spotted in full pads, but the expectation is that the Bears will ramp him up like other injured players, including rookie tight end Colston Loveland and left tackle Braxton Jones.

Following four non-padded training camp practices, the Bears had a rest day on Sunday. Last week, head coach Ben Johnson indicated Burden would be returning to the practice field “hopefully soon.” And after a rest day, Burden is poised to ramp up as he joins his teammates for the first time this summer.
