Ausar Thompson Sends Two-Word Message About Pistons' Teammate Cade Cunningham

The Detroit Pistons, for the second time in their first-round series, stole a game from the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden. They still trail 3-2, but they have the belief that they can force a Game 7 and advance past the Knicks to meet the Boston Celtics in the next round.

Still fueled by the anger from the botched call that lost them Game 3, the Pistons remain in “bounce back” mode.

No one has taken up more responsibility for the wins–and the losses–than Cade Cunningham, and his teammates know they can rely on him.

The Pistons play a true brand of team basketball, but even the most well-rounded team in the NBA knows they can rely on their stars, and Ausar Thompson used two words to describe the faith he has in Cunningham.

“Super confident,” said Thompson when asked about Cunningham’s ability to force a Game 7.

He made the game plan for the upcoming contests clear: “Reading the ball, reading where Cade is, and just you know, my teammates helped me out a lot.”

The Pistons are yet to win a playoff game at Little Caesars Arena, not just this season, but ever. With Game 6 scheduled for Thursday night, it’s safe to say that the city will be rocking, and everyone on the roster will give their best effort, although a win starts and ends with how Cunningham is able to take over.
