Auburn Standout Malcolm Simmons Arrested For Domestic Assault originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
After a strong freshman campaign for the Auburn Tigers, wide receiver Malcolm Simmons’ future with the program is now in question.
As reported by ESPN’s Chris Low, the former four-star recruit was arrested Wednesday evening.
“Auburn receiver MalcolmSimmons, an expected starter this season, was arrested Wednesday on a charge of domestic assault with strangulation or suffocation, according to Lee County Sheriff Office records,” wrote Low.
This past season saw Simmons rack up 40 catches for 451 yards and three touchdowns, ranking second on the team in catches. With Keandre Lambert-Smith off to the NFL, Simmons and fellow former freshman standout Cam Coleman were expected to anchor one of the best wide receiver corps in the country.
Auburn has yet to comment on the matter.
