Angel Reese Reacts to Chicago Sky's Big Announcement After First Win of the Season

Angel Reese Reacts to Chicago Sky’s Big Announcement After First Win of the Season originally appeared on Athlon Sports.

It took the Chicago Sky five games to finally get their first win of the new season.

Their moment came on Thursday night as the Sky took down No. 1 overall pick Paige Bueckers and the Dallas Wings in a 97-92 home win at Wintrust Arena.

It was far from a mind-blowing performance from Angel Reese, who finished with just six points on 2-of-6 shooting, nine rebounds, five assists and two turnovers in 25 minutes of action.

It was Kamilla Cardoso who led the way for Chicago in this one, dropping a career-high 23 points on 9-of-13 from the field, eight rebounds, an assist and one steal. It was arguably the best game of the second-year center’s fledgling WNBA career, and it prompted a big announcement from the Sky after the game.

In an Instagram post, Chicago announced Cardoso as the Player of the Game against the Wings. Reese caught wind of the news, and she reacted by sharing the post via her Instagram stories.

Both Reese and Cardoso are now in their second season with the Sky after joining the team as rookies last year.

Both players are expected to take the next step in their respective careers, and their progress this season will have a significant impact on the level of success Chicago will achieve in 2025.

Reese, Cardoso and the rest of the squad get just one day off before they return to action on Saturday in a rematch against the Wings in Dallas. The Sky will want to keep the momentum going in that one as they look to score their second win of the campaign.
